Greetings and Welcome!

I'm Dan O'Connor and my home QTH is Reno, Nevada.

By profession, I am a Structural Engineer. Previous careers (i.e., jobs that have gone on too long... :-) include college (BS/MS) and, before that, six years in the U.S. Navy as an Electronics Technician/Nuclear Propulsion Plant Operator, aboard the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70).

My free time is spent enjoying a wide range of hobbies including Camping, Computers, Shooting, Model Railroading, Photography, Railfanning (watching trains, photographing them, and listening to railroad radio) and, of course, Amateur Radio.

I received my Technician license in April, 2006, my General license in August, 2006, and my Amateur Extra license in April, 2010. After much nagging from me, my wife Danna earned her Technician ticket in March, 2010. We now enjoy Ham activities, such as Field Day and Skywarn Recognition Day, together!
